The antidote to your emotional fear of doing something that you’ve had an unpleasant experience from — is courage. You must walk through that fear and do the very thing you are so afraid to do. If toddlers stopped trying to walk after their first attempt and failure… well, you can imagine that. Toddlers learn by trying — they keep trying.
I spent last Sunday at the Riverview Holistic Fair. It’s a twice-yearly event and affectionately known as The Little Fair With the Big Heart. Little Fair indeed; with 33 tables, it’s no wonder there are so many familiar faces and like-minded people. It fills me up to overflowing.
Each time we notice something in our environment, we are paying attention to it. This ability to focus on something while ignoring other stimuli is called selective attention.
